Former police asset shot dead in Parañaque

A pawnshop employee was shot dead in Parañaque by someone who allegedly sought revenge from one of his previous jobs as a law enforcement asset.

According to a "24 Oras" report by Marison Abdurahman on Thursday, CCTV footage from the morning of the incident showed two suspects arriving on a motorcycle prior to the shooting and parking near motorcycles before one of the suspects left.

The next footage showed the suspects escaping right after the victim was reportedly shot while opening the pawnshop.

(He was also cleaning his station at the pawnshop. I suddenly heard shots. When I turned, he was the one who… He was the target, he was the one who…)

(I only heard the three shots, then I saw someone running)

Parañaque police are looking into revenge as a possible motive for the crime, as the victim used to be an asset in law enforcement operations.

(All of his jobs with the law enforcement resulted in positive arrests of the suspects. Revenge by suspects jailed by the assets…)

Professional ang kilos at galaw eh,” he added.

(The only target of the suspect was the victim. After he was shot, he escaped. His movements are professional)

Three bullet casings were recovered from the scene and have been turned over to the forensics department for analysis, while the police are looking into a possible person of interest and conducting a hot pursuit operation. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/BAP, GMA Integrated News
