Liquor ban imposed within 500-meter radius of Catholic churches in Manila

Manila City Mayor Honey Lacuna has signed an order imposing a two-day ban on the sale and consumption of intoxicating and alcoholic beverages within the 500-meter radius of all Catholic Churches in the city.

The ban will be in effect on March 28, Thursday, and the 29th, Friday, "to promote peace and order during the commemoration of Holy Week."

Lacuna, in Executive Order No. 9, series of 2024, also directed the Manila Police district and all law enforcement to strictly implement the directive. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
