Senior citizens age 101 or older in Mandaluyong to receive P100K cash

Senior citizens in Mandaluyong City who are at least 101 years old will now receive a P100,000 birthday cash gift.

On March 4, the Mandaluyong City Council passed Ordinance No. 973, Series of 2024, which increased the P10,000 birthday cash incentive to P100,000.

The measure, which amended Ordinance No. 871, Series of 2022, retains the P10,000 cash grant for qualified senior citizens whose age reaches 90 to 99 years old.

The cash grants can be claimed upon presentation of the necessary documentary requirements and verification by Mandaluyong City's Office for Senior Citizen Affairs.

The ordinance was approved by Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin Abalos and attested by Vice Mayor Carmelita Abalos, who is also the presiding officer of the city council.

Apart from the cash grants from local government units, senior citizens who reach the ages of 80, 85, 90, and 95 are also entitled to a cash gift amounting to P10,000 from the national government, while those who reach 100 years old will receive P100,000. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
