The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Tuesday said that it gathered 16 truckloads of garbage in its cleaning operations during the Holy Week.

In a statement, MMDA said the clean-up operations in terminals, churches, and leading roads in Metro Manila resulted in a total of 44.19 tons of collected garbage.

It added that cleaning operations in major areas by the MMDA Metroparkways Clearing Group continued despite the general public returning to their respective provinces during the break.
