Palace declares May 21 a holiday in Malabon

Malacañang has declared May 21 as a special non-working day in Malabon City in honor of its 425th founding anniversary.

The order signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin stated that the declared holiday would allow citizens of Malabon an opportunity to participate in the activities of the celebration.

During a special non-working day, some employees including those in the government are still called to work.

The Department of Labor and Employment previously said employees who will be working during a special non-working day must be paid an additional 30% of their basic wage for the first eight hours of work.—Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
