Couple hacked to death by employee in Pasig City 

A couple in Pasig City was hacked to death by their store helper allegedly out of spite last May 30. 

According to Emil Sumangil's exclusive report in “24 Oras” on Tuesday, CCTV footage showed that the suspect suddenly headlocked her female employer and stabbed her several times. The victim can be heard from the video screaming for help. 

The CCTV footage also showed that the suspect later went to the back door and stabbed her male employer, who can be heard crying for help as well.  

Fortunately, the son was able to run away from the suspect and was able to report the incident to the authorities. The son sustained injuries but he is already in stable condition. 

The Pasig City Police immediately arrested the suspect at the crime scene. 

"Tulala siya sa pangyayaring yun, di na siya mag-isip pang tumakas," said Pasig Police chief Police Colonl Celerino Sacro. 

(She was staring into nothingness when we saw her. She had no strength to escape authorities.) 

The police said the suspect committed the crime out of hatred as she alleged that she was always accused by the couple of stealing money from the store.

"Nagkaroon sila ng hindi pagkakaintindihan sa kanilang remittance. So accordingly, napagsabihan iyong ating suspek, ito ay nagalit," said EPD director Brigadier General Wilson Asueta. 

(They had a misunderstanding with regard to remittance. So accordingly, the suspect was scolded and she got mad.) 

In an interview with GMA Integrated News, the suspect admitted to her crime. 

“Sa sobrang galit po…Ano po kasi, lagi po akong napagbibintangan na magnanakaw kahit wala naman po akong ginagawa. Sabi kumukupit daw ako sa benta namin, kaso tama naman po lahat ng records ko ng benta,” the suspect said. 

(I did it out of anger…They always accuse me of stealing, when in fact, I didn’t do anything wrong. They accused me of  stealing from our shop even though my records are correct.) 

The suspect added that one of the victims has always suspected her whenever she buys something for herself. 

“Nagso-sorry po ako na nagawa ko ‘yun, pero sana intindihin din nila yung naramdaman ko yung bago ko nagawa ‘yun, na lagi akong pinagbibintangan. Sana inano rin nila na nasaktan din po ako…Hindi ko naman sinadya ‘yun,” she added. 

(I’m sorry for what I have done, but I hope they understood how I was feeling whenever they accuse me of stealing. I wished they understood that they really hurt me…I did not mean to do that.) 

The suspect was charged with frustrated murder and double murder, and is currently detained at the Pasig Police Station.—Vince Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
