Malabon residents warned of possible flooding in 3 sites

Residents of Malabon City on Friday were warned of possible flooding in three areas after the navigational gate of Malabon-Navotas River broke last Wednesday.

According to a report on Super Radyo dzBB, the Malabon City Engineering Office's Flood Control Division advised that flooding may occur in Barangay Dampalit, Barangay Hulong Duhat, and Arellano Road, especially during high tide.

The city government also prepared sandbags for a possible “riverwall overtop activity” to prevent the flooding, the report said.

The report added that the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has already started repairs on the gate, which purportedly encountered mechanical problems. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
