Delivery rider killed in QC after being run over by bus
A motorcyclist was killed along Quezon City's Commonwealth Avenue after getting run over by a bus, Chino Gaston reported Monday on 24 Oras.
Based on a video that has gone viral, the 31-year-old victim, delivery rider Mark Magno, and other motorcyclists had stopped at a red light at the corner of Commonwealth and Fairlane Street on Saturday afternoon.
A bus came up behind them, but instead of stopping, the vehicle crashed into the victim from behind.
The bus pinned then drove over Magno, while his motorcycle was dragged across the intersection.
The bus' 59-year-old driver, who was detained and is in police custody, explained that he was trying to get to the bus depot as he felt that there was something wrong with his vehicle's brakes.
Syempre wala namang gustong ganyan," he added.
The bus driver was charged with Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide and Damage to Property. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
