Over P1.5-M worth of 'shabu' seized from couple in Taguig City
More than P1.5 million worth of suspected shabu was seized from a couple in Taguig City following a buy-bust operation in Barangay Maharlika on Monday night.
According to Nico Waje’s report in “Saksi” on Tuesday, the two female suspects identified as alias “Kar” and alias “Miriam” were arrested after a month of surveillance by authorities.
The Southern Police District (SPD) said that most of the suspects’ buyers were public vehicle drivers in the city.
“Their usual buyers are just from within the Taguig area. These are construction workers, jeepney drivers, and tricycle drivers,” said SPD Public Information Office chief Police Maj. Hazel Asilo in Filipino.
The suspects are both working part-time in a delivery company - one was a rider and the other was repacking parcels.
“It’s possible that alias ‘Kar’ is also distributing the illegal drugs while delivering parcels,” Asilo added.
The SPD said the suspects are denying the allegations against them. They are currently detained at the Taguig City Custodial Facility. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BAP, GMA Integrated News
