Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano files COC for re-election
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano on Monday filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for re-election in the 2025 polls.
"Sa akin po hindi kagustuhan ng politiko [For me it is not for love of politics] but the will of the people,” Cayetano said in an interview right after she filed the COC.
“In Taguig, we conduct regular surveys, it's to guide us kung ano ang mga disenyo ng mga programang binibigay natin sa [on the design of our programs that we provide to the] public and if you get an approval rating, a satisfaction rating of 91%, even if I say I still want, pero kung ang pulso ng mga tao ay hindi, [hindi] dapat isantabi na natin yun [but if the pulse of the public is no, that should not be disregarded]," she added.
Vice Mayor Arvin Alit will also run as a re-electionist. The following aspirants are also seeking different positions in the 2025 polls:
1st and 2nd representatives - Ading Cruz and Jorge Bocobo
1st district councilors - Kim Abang, Commissioner Aquino, Allan Cruz, Sammy Cruz, Abogado Darwin Icay, Jimmy Labampa, Totong Manosca, Tikboy Marcelino, Carlito "Oga" Ogalinola, Atty. Joy Panga-Cruz, Gamie San Pedro and Ferdie "Bro" Santos.
2nd district councilors are Marisse Baline-Eron, Edgar Baptista, Gigi Bermas, Danny Castro, Iony Delara-Bes, Ivie Dizon, Gen Pau-Tin, Alex Penoliio, Ed Prado, Jomil Serna, Nicky Supan and Bing Villamor.
A total of 18,280 elective posts will be up for grabs for Eleksyon 2025. The filing of COCs has started on October 1 and is set to close on October 8, Tuesday. — BM, GMA Integrated News
