Manila City Jail prepares motel-style room for Valentine’s Day conjugal visits

The Manila City Jail has prepared a motel-style room where inmates can spend time together with their spouses on Valentine’s Day.

According to Luisito Santos’ report in Super Radyo dzBB Thursday, the airconditioned rooms for conjugal visits were decorated with red balloons and heart designs to set up the atmosphere in time for the love month.

“Mas lalo nating inayos, para maging kaaya aya, komportable itong tinatawag nating conjugal visitation area. Kasi itong conjugal visitation area na ito, ginagamit ito para sa mga mag-asawa, legal na nagsasama para dito nila gawin yung kanilang pisikal na aktibidad, of course sagradong aktibidad ito para sa mga legal na partners,” said jail warden Supt. Lino Soriano.

(We made sure that the conjugal visitation area will be comfortable and pleasant to the married or legal couples who would want to spend an intimate time with each other.) 

But the city jail encourages those who will visit their spouses or partners in the jail to bring their own mattress for hygiene purposes.

Further, the conjugal visits are only up to 15 minutes. The city jail also adjusted their schedule on Friday from 10am to 5 pm to accommodate many couples on Valentine’s Day. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
