Fire hits commercial-residential building in Pandacan, Manila

A fire broke out in Pandacan, Manila on Sunday morning, the second day of Fire Prevention Month.

The fire affected a commercial-residential building on Labores Street, according to a report by Carlo Mateo on Super Radyo dzBB.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) received a report on the fire at 7:48 a.m. and soon thereafter raised the first alarm.

The BFP then sounded out the second alarm at 8:02 a.m.

Fire out was declared at 9:02 a.m.

The BFP on Saturday kicked off Fire Prevention Month with a program at Biñan Football Stadium.

The bureau said March was designated as Fire Prevention Month since more fire incidents occur this month due to the hot and dry weather.

During the month of March, consumers usually use more electricity, which may cause fires, the BFP added. —KG, GMA Integrated News
