Drug suspect allegedly killed over deal that turned sour

A drug suspect was allegedly killed by two men with whom he had a bad transaction on illegal drugs in Navotas City.

In Marisol Abdurahman’s Thursday report on “24 Oras,” the police said the victim and suspects engaged in the selling of illegal drugs in Barangay Tangos North.

CCTV footage showed that the victim approached the suspects, when one of them threw a packet at him.

A few moments after they parted ways, one of the suspects returned.

The victim was then found dead with a gunshot wound.

The police believed the two men were the suspects and so they arrested them in a follow-up operation.

Major Anthony Mondejar, operations officer of the Navotas Police, said the suspects were seeking the earnings from the illegal drugs sold by the victim.

Authorities recovered the packet that was thrown by the suspect at the crime scene while they seized the gun and an e-bike used for the crime.

Mondejar said the suspects were located with the help of a witness.

“Una, yung description ng ating mga witness. kung ano po yung damit na suot nila nung ginawa po nila yung krimen same pa rin nung na recover sila,” Mondejar said.

(It is through the description of the witness. What they wore when they committed the crime was still the same clothes they wore when we arrested them.)

The victim was killed for allegedly failing to keep the deal with the suspects.

“Dati na kaming may ano nun may alitan nasa loob palang po kami. Nung lumabas ho kami maam, na onse kami sa droga, nagka onsehan kami,” one of the suspects said.

(We already have issues even when we were detained. Our transaction ended on a bad note.)

Aside from having a personal grudge, the suspect said the victim also engaged in estafa.

He added that someone ordered him to kill the victim with an initial payment of P10,000.

Mondejar said the victim was killed for not turning over the earnings from selling illegal drugs.

The alleged mastermind is an inmate at the Navotas City Jail, who is facing illegal drug charges.

Meanwhile, the other suspect said he is innocent and was just driving the other suspect supposedly to school.
