31 wounded in EDSA carousel bus collision

At least 31 people were wounded after two EDSA carousel buses collided along Guadalupe Northbound in Makati City Monday evening.

In Nico Waje’s “Saksi” report, the bus crashed into the back of another bus, according to the initial report of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and Makati police.

According to the conductor of the front bus, their vehicle stopped since there was a motorcycle in front, which came from the center island road section of MRT-3.

The front bus was also in line to get passengers when the incoming bus suddenly hit the bus from behind.

Eight passengers were wounded from the front bus, while 23 were wounded from the second bus.

The driver of the second bus also said he lost his brakes.

Emergency response teams immediately arrived to give first aid to the wounded passengers while some were brought to the hospital for medical attention.

The road incident also caused heavy traffic starting from EDSA Orense.

The other EDSA carousel buses went out of the busway to continue with its operation. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
