China-bound woman with arrest warrant nabbed at NAIA

Authorities at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport arrested on Saturday a woman who was flying to China after she was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant for issuing bouncing checks.

In his report Sunday on Super Radyo dzBB, Mao dela Cruz said the Filipina was a passenger on a flight bound for Guangzhou when she was nabbed at Terminal 3 of NAIA on Saturday afternoon.

The Bureau of Immigration said a routine check revealed the woman had an outstanding warrant for violating Batas Pambansa Bilang 22 or the Anti-Bouncing Checks Law.

After her warrant was confirmed, the BI informed airport police which then coordinated with the Manila Police District to facilitate the arrest.

The woman is now in custody at the MPD Mariposa station. Bail is recommended at P12,000.—RF, GMA Integrated News
