P15M worth of fake body products seized in Manila
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has seized counterfeit body products worth P15 million in San Nicolas, Manila.
In a statement on Tuesday, NBI said three search warrants were served on March 24, where authorities seized 18,889 various counterfeit products.
This was after a company filed a complaint against three online shops and two persons for storing, selling, and distributing counterfeit products bearing three certain trademarks.
They will be facing charges for violating the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
Among the seized products were lotion, sunblock, facial cream, cologne, facial cleanser, and liquid soap.
Authorities also confiscated various business documents, receipts, and parcel tags, among others.
“Appropriate criminal charges will be filed once all requisite documents have been completed and validated,” NBI said. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
