Couple, 2 children killed in Las Piñas fire
Four people were killed after a fire broke out in a residential area in Barangay Pulang Lupa Uno, Las Piñas City early Monday morning, the Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region (BFP-NCR) said.
They are members of the same family — father, mother, and their two children aged 17 and three years old, Super Radyo dzBB’s Mao dela Cruz reported on Dobol B TV.
The family was on the second floor when the mezzanine collapsed amid the fire, according to a report of GMA Integrated News’ Bea Pinlac on Unang Balita.
The fire started at around 1:20 a.m. and reached the first alarm around 1:41 a.m., according to a report by Olan Bola on Super Radyo dzBB.
At least four fire trucks responded to put out the fire in the house located inside a narrow alley.
The fire was declared out at 2:37 a.m.
Authorities are looking into faulty electrical wiring or overheating of an appliance as the possible cause of the fire.
The BFP estimated the cost of damage due to the fire to reach around P600,000. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA Integrated News
