Manila LGU announces road closures on April 22 for Nora Aunor’s state funeral

The local government of Manila on Monday announced that there will be road closures and traffic adjustments in the city for the state funeral of National Artist and “Superstar” Nora Aunor from 7 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22.

In an advisory, it was announced that the following roads will be closed:

• Padre Burgos Avenue (From Mehan Garden to Quezon Boulevard Bridge North Bound)
• Natividad Lopez Street Northbound (From N. Lopez/Villegas intersection heading towards Universidad de Manila)

The alternate routes will be:

• McArthur Bridge to Sta. Cruz to point of destination
• Jones Bridge to Binondo area to point of destination

The state funeral will be held at the Metropolitan Theater. According to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the Cultural Center of the Philippines, arrival honors will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by a tribute program at 9:00 a.m.

The rites will continue with a state funeral at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
