Motorcycle taxi rider stabbed multiple times by passenger in QC

A motorcycle taxi rider is in the hospital after being stabbed several times by his passenger in Quezon City on Sunday.

According to James Agustin’s report in “24 Oras” on Monday, the suspect suddenly attacked the 43-year-old rider when they reached an alleyway in Barangay Pag-Ibig sa Nayon at around 5 a.m.

The assailant stabbed his victim at least 10 times and then fled with his motorcycle.

Nearby residents sought help from the barangay and immediately rushed the rider to the hospital.

“Nakita po namin si rider hawak-hawak niya po yung leeg niya na yun nga po puro dugo, duguan po siya. Nung pagbuhat na po habang sinasakay na sa ambulansya sinabihan po siya nung BPSO na ‘Pare, lumaban ka, kaya mo yan!’ Um-oo naman po siya,” said barangay officer Mariz Villafania.

(We saw the rider holding on to his bloodied neck. One of our BPSOs told him to fight for his life and he said yes.)

Investigation showed that the suspect booked the rider at Recto Avenue in Manila going to the place of the incident.

However, the motive behind the crime remains unclear.

“Ang kanyang kinuha lang ay yung ginawa niyang getaway is yung motor na gamit nila nung biktima natin. Yung personal belongings nung victim yung wallet, yung pera niya is nandoon sa biktima natin intact yon hindi yon nagalaw,” said La Loma Police Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Gilbert Cruz.

(He only took the motorcycle. But the personal belongings of the victim, such as his wallet and his money, are intact and with the victim.)

The police have begun a manhunt and have obtained the CCTV footage that could help identify the passenger.
