68-year-old doctor found stabbed to death inside abandoned SUV in QC
A 68-year-old doctor was found dead with multiple stab wounds inside an abandoned SUV in Quezon City.
According to Jun Veneracion's report on "Saksi," the suspect was arrested after he was caught on video taken by the victim's dashcam.
Police said a security guard reported the abandoned SUV, which was found along Mindanao Avenue extension in Barangay Pasong Putik.
The Quezon City police have yet to name the victim but identified him as a 68-year-old physician.
Based on the investigation, a pair of iris scissors was used to kill the victim before robbing him.
The police said the motive of the crime appears to be robbery because the victim’s mobile phone, wallet, and cash were missing.
Upon inspecting the vehicle and reviewing the dashcam footage, a man was seen before 10 p.m. on Good Friday.
The following events were not filmed, but the man was seen entering the vehicle.
Authorities arrested the alleged suspect in a follow-up operation. They recovered the physician’s ATM card and nail cutter.
The suspect denied the allegations, saying that there was no ATM retrieved from him and that the nail cutter was his.
He said he was arrested because he looked like the real suspect and that his wife and neighbors could vouch for his innocence.
The Quezon City police said the suspect underwent inquest proceedings and will face robbery with homicide charges. –Mariel Celine Serquiña/NB, GMA Integrated News
