More K9 units to be deployed in MRT-3, LRT stations —DOTr

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said it will deploy more K9 units at Metro Rail Transit-3 and Light Rail Transit stations in Metro Manila to replace X-ray machines.

DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon inspected on Saturday the Philippine Coast Guard K9 Facility in Clark, Pampanga to check on the bomb-sniffing dogs prior to their deployment.

Dizon earlier said the full removal of X-ray scanners in all MRT-3 stations will help decongest queues.

The train stations will also have artificial intelligence (AI) enabled CCTV cameras as part of efforts to reduce queues without compromising public safety and security. —KG, GMA Integrated News
