2 teens drown in Tullahan River in Quezon City
Two teenagers drowned in the Tullahan River in Novaliches, Quezon City, according to Oscar Oida’s report on “24 Oras” on Monday.
Mark Angel Corre, 17, and his 14-year-old friend Christian Ramos were supposed to only get mangoes when they went for a swim in the river in Barangay Bartolome with their friends.
Corre knew how to swim but drowned while trying to save Ramos.
Corre’s father said his son might have been worn out, since he also saved their other friends.
According to the Quezon City Police District, swimming is prohibited in the Tullahan River for safety reasons.
A man also drowned in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte. The 42-year-old victim had apparently been drinking and went into the water to sober up. He was brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
