EDSA opened to provincial buses amid election travel rush

EDSA has been opened to provincial buses as many Filipinos travel to the provinces to cast their ballots in the midterm elections scheduled for May 12.

Provincial buses were allowed to pass through EDSA between 10 p.m. on May 9 and at 5 a.m. on May 13, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

The MMDA also released the following drop-off points:

  • Drop-off for buses coming from North Luzon: designated terminals in Quezon City
  • Drop-off for buses coming from South Luzon: designated terminals in Pasay City and Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange

''No other loading or unloading areas along EDSA shall be permitted during the said period,'' the MMDA said in a statement. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
