Teodoro poised to win Marikina mayoral race

Marikina 1st District Rep. Maan Teodoro is poised to succeed her husband Marcy Teodoro as mayor of Marikina City, according to the partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections.

As of 10:47 p.m., Maan garnered 147,702 votes against Marikina 2nd district Rep. Stella Quimbo, who received 116,713, in the mayoral race.

Meanwhile, former Marikina Mayor Del De Guzman is leading the vice mayoral race with 131,495 votes. He was followed by Doc Marion Andres with 121,991 votes, and independent candidate Annie Retes with 3,417 votes.

On the other hand, Marcy is leading in the congressional race for Marikina’s first district with 74,452 votes. He is competing against Senate Minority Leader Koko Pimentel who took 28,381 votes in the partial count.

The Comelec earlier issued show cause orders against the Teodoro couple over vote-buying and abuse of state resources allegations.  But Maan denied the allegations. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
