April Aguilar proclaimed Las Piñas mayor

April Aguilar was proclaimed the next mayor of Las Piñas City early Tuesday morning.

Her victory was certified by the city's board of canvassers.

She received 89,724 votes, while Carlo Aguilar got 61,274 votes.

In the race for vice mayor, Imelda Aguilar won handily with 94,427 votes.  Her main opponent, Louie Bustamante, received 51,314 votes.

Mark Anthony Santos, meanwhile, was proclaimed congressman of the city's lone district after defeating three other candidates, including Senator Cynthia Villar.

Santos secured 83,078 votes, while Villar had 60,455 votes. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
