Vico Sotto proclaimed winner of Pasig mayoral race

Incumbent Mayor Vico Sotto won another term after being proclaimed winner of the mayoral race for Eleksyon 2025 in Pasig City on Tuesday.

Sotto, who ran as independent, won his third and last term.

He won over Sara Discaya, Cory Palma, and Eagle Ayaon.

As of 10:54 a.m., data from partial and unofficial results showed that Sotto had 286,897 votes; Discaya had 24,163 votes; Palma had 254; while Ayaon had 243.

"We are very thankful. Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng Pasigueño sa kanilang tiwala, sa kanilang suporta at sa bagong mandato, fresh mandate na ito," he told GMA Integrated News

(I am grateful to all the Pasigueños for their trust, their support, and this fresh mandate.)

"What's next is the next three years. Pagtitibayin natin 'yung nasimulan na pagbabago, reporma (We will strengthen the changes and reforms we started)," he added.

Sotto said the Eleksyon 2025 campaign is different from the past campaigns.

"Kakaiba 'yung 2025. Talagang lahat ng puwedeng pagdaanan, napagdaanan namin," he said.

([Eleksyon] 2025 is different. Everything that can possibly happen, we went through that.)

"Ang tao, ayaw na sa tradisyonal na politika. Ayaw na ng lumang kalakaran gaya ng vote buying o kickback sa gobyerno," Sotto added.

(People do not want traditional politics anymore. They don't want the old ways such as vote buying or giving kickbacks to the government.)

He said no government is perfect, but he can say that there has been a huge improvement in governance in Pasig in the last six years.

Asked if he has plans to seek higher office in the future, Sotto said he would rather focus on work now.

"Sana hayaan din po ako ng mga tao na magtrabaho at hindi ako laging pine-pressure. Importante magtrabaho tayo. Let's do our best. Focus po tayo," he said.

(I hope the people would allow me to work and not pressure me. What's important is we work. Let's do our best. Let's focus.)

Dodot Jaworski meanwhile was proclaimed winner of the race for vice mayoralty.

He won over Iyo Caruncho Bernardo and Kuya Marc Dela Cruz.

Jaworski had 237,117 votes as compared to Bernardo's 58,841 and dela Cruz's 4,619 based on partial unofficial results as of 10:54 a.m.
