Wes Gatchalian proclaimed as Valenzuela City mayor

Wes Gatchalian is up for a second term after he was proclaimed as Valenzuela City mayor in this year’s elections by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) City Board of Canvassers.

Based on the partial and unofficial tally by the Comelec with 98.83% election returns processed, Gatchalian garnered 292,260 votes. He is unopposed in the said post.

Also proclaimed was Gatchalian’s running mate, Marlon Alejandrino, who had 241,634 votes against Gilbert Gamas with only 54,270 votes.

The City Board of Canvassers also proclaimed Kenneth Gatchalian and Gerald Galang as First and Second District representatives, respectively.

The 12 winning councilors for both the first and second legislative districts of Valenzuela were also proclaimed. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/KG, GMA Integrated News
