3 injured in residential fire in QC; Pasay fire damaged 2 houses

Three people sustained minor injuries after a fire broke out in a residential area in Quezon City.

In Mariz Umali’s Monday report on “24 Oras,” the blaze in Barangay Pansol started around 2:30 p.m. and reached 2nd alarm.

At least 15 families were affected, while six houses were burned.

Of the three injured, one was brought to the hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire.

However, one of the residents said improperly disposal of cigarette butts possibly caused the blaze. She said some teenagers lit a cigarette in an area surrounded by light materials such as wood and clothing.

The fire was extinguished past 4 p.m. But firefighters stayed for a while to ensure that the fire would not rekindle.

The affected residents were evacuated to the barangay’s multipurpose centers.

In Pasay City, two houses were burned by the blaze that reached 2nd alarm. There were no reported casualties.
