15-year-old girl allegedly raped at gasoline station in Marikina City
A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man inside a comfort room in a gasoline station in Marikina City.
According to EJ Gomez’s report on “Saksi” on Thursday, the 48-year-old suspect was later arrested.
“Pagkatapos mangyari na gahasain sa CR, binigyan yung bata, yung menor de edad, ng P150 ng suspect,” said Marikina Police chief PCol. Geoffrey Fernandez.
(After she was allegedly raped in the CR, the minor was given P150 by the suspect.)
The Marikina City Police said its patrolling personnel approached the victim and her younger sibling at the gasoline station because it was already curfew hours.
“Bandang 10:30 ng gabi, nakita yung isang bata na parang may hihintay. Nung sinita, sabi nung bata hinihintay niya yung kapatid niya na nasa CR. Then biglang lumabas isang lalaki, then sinundan ng isang bata sa CR,” said Fernandez.
(At around 10:30 in the evening, a kid was seen waiting for someone. When she was approached, she said that she was waiting for her sister in the CR. Then a man came out and was followed by a girl.)
But the suspect, who is working at the gasoline station’s convenience store, denied the allegations against him. He claimed that he went to the women’s washroom only to shave his face because it is well-lit.
“Ang bata na ‘yun, matagal ko ng kilala, matagal na yan nanghihingi, namamalimos,” he said.
(I’ve known that girl for a long time. She’s been begging for alms ever since.)
But a minor witness, who was sleeping near the comfort room, alleged that he heard a woman shouting from the inside.
“Pagkakita ko po, nagmamasid-masid po yung kuya. Pagkatingin ko sa CR, may butas. Maingay-ingay na po. Pagsabi ko po, “Tao po”....Tapos may nagkasugat po sa likod tapos warak-warak na yung damit,” the witness said.
(I saw that the guy was observing his surroundings. I peeped into the hole of the CR. There was noise from the inside. I knocked and I saw a wound at the back and her clothes were torn.)
The family of the victim has yet to make a comment on the issue.
Meanwhile, the suspect will face complaint for statutory rape. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
