Suspects seek forgiveness after locating body of killed TNVS driver

The suspects behind the murder and robbery of a TNVS driver in Parañaque City last May now seek forgiveness after they pinpointed the location where they dumped the victim’s body.

According to John Consulta’s report in “24 Oras”, the suspects joined National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) operatives in locating the remains of Raymond Cabrera in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija.

One of the suspects got emotional after showing the exact location of the remains.

“Gusto ko humingi ng tawad sa kanya, kasi isa ako sa mga naging instrumento ng Diyos para mangyari ito. Sorry po,” the suspect said.

(I want to ask forgiveness from him because I became an instrument for what happened. I’m very sorry.)

Authorities immediately secured the spot and retrieved the remains alongside a car matting, clothes, and shoes of the victim.

The suspects surrendered to the authorities on Thursday evening as their families feared for their safety after their identities were reported.

The suspects were picked up by the victim in Parañaque last May 18. The car didn't reach its destination in Molino, Cavite and instead was driven around the province.

Audio from the car's dashcam indicated that the victim, Raymond Cabrera, was no longer driving the car. It can also be heard from the audio that he was being stabbed.

“Saan mo ba tinurok ito?” one of the suspects can be heard in the audio.

(Where did you stab him?)

“Sa tiyan lang…sa puso, tina-target ko ‘yung puso ‘di ko makuha,” the other suspect replied.

(Only at the stomach…I was targeting the heart, but I can’t hit it.)

“Hugutin mo, isaksak mo nang maayos sa puso. Naghihingalo pa, tuluyan niyo na,” a suspect can also be heard saying.

(You pull it out and hit the heart properly. He’s still breathing, let’s finish him.)

The suspects brought Cabrera’s body all the way from Parañaque to Nueva Ecija.

They claimed that they committed the crime out of desperation for money. The suspects also said that the victim tried to fight back, the report said.

“Hindi namin inasahan na malakas…” a suspect said.

According to the report, the suspects also planned to use Cabrera’s vehicle and TNVS app to rob other passengers.

But the suspects regret what they have done and hope that they can be forgiven by Cabrera’s family.

“Hindi ko inaasahan na mapapatawad niyo ako. Pero humihingi ako ng tawad sa inyo habang buhay, sa Diyos,” a suspect said.

(I don’t expect that you can forgive me. But I’m asking for forgiveness eternally and from God.)

“TNVS [driver] din po ako, humihingi rin po ako ng pasensya sa lahat…TNVS community,” another suspect pleaded.

(I’m also a TNVS driver. I’m very sorry to everyone…including the TNVS community.)

The victim’s family is still in pain following the brutal fate of their patriarch.

“Humihingi ng awa yung asawa ko sa kanila  na ‘Tama na po, tama na po’. Pero anong ginawa nila? Sinaksak pa rin nila nang sinaksak. Hindi sila mga tao, Mga hayop sila. Sinaniban sila ng demonyo. Nawalan kami ng padre de pamilya dahil sa ginawa nila,” Cabrera’s wife said.

(My husband was seeking mercy and asked them to stop. But what have they done? They still stabbed him. They are not humans, but animals. They are possessed by the devil. We lost a father because of what they have done.)

Nonetheless, Cabrera’s family thanked the authorities and the media for helping in her husband’s case. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
