TNVS driver sustained 2 fatal stab wounds in the chest - autopsy report
An autopsy report showed that the TNVS driver who was robbed and killed by his passengers in Parañaque City in May was stabbed twice in the left chest, which led to his death.
The report further showed a kitchen knife was allegedly used in the stabbing and is currently being searched for by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
The three suspects in the killing of TNVS driver Raymond Cabrera, who are facing charges of robbery-homicide, underwent inquest proceedings at the Department of Justice on Saturday afternoon, according to a report by Nico Waje on ''24 Oras Weekend.''
The suspects were then brought to the NBI detention facility in Muntinlupa City.
Cabrera's body is already in an advanced state of decomposition, but authorities said they were 90 percent certain that the body belonged to Cabrera after his son identified the shoes he was wearing and the screw on his arm.
"Positively identified siya through the 'yung sapatos niya, 'yung mga gamit niya plus mayroon siyang screw sa may braso at sa arms noong maaksidente siya. So, 'yung mga 'yun ay na-positively identified siya ng kaniyang anak na siya nga 'yun," said NBI Director Jaime Santiago.
(He was positively identified through his shoes and his belongings. Plus, he had a screw on his arm when he had the accident. Through those things, his son positively identified him.)
The NBI said it is awaiting the DNA test results but is already set to turn over Cabrera's remains to his family.
The victim's remains were cremated in Tarlac City at around 6 p.m. on Friday and was taken to a funeral home in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija.
Cabrera's relatives are expected to claim his cremated remains on Monday.
The suspects on Friday sought forgiveness after pinpointing the location where they dumped Cabrera’s body in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija.
They surrendered to the authorities on Thursday evening as their families feared for their safety after their identities were reported.
The suspects were picked up by the victim in Parañaque City on May 18. The car didn't reach its destination in Molino, Cavite, and instead was driven around the province.
Audio from the car's dashcam indicated that Cabrera was no longer driving the car. It can also be heard from the audio that he was being stabbed. —Jamil Santos/VBL, GMA Integrated News
