MMDA personnel dies in Tondo stabbing incident

A 55-year-old personnel of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority was killed in a stabbing incident in Tondo, Manila over the weekend, according to a report of GMA Integrated News’ Jhomer Apresto on Unang Balita on Wednesday.

The victim identified as Rosauro Suba, a member of the MMDA demolition team, was buying siomai when he had an argument with the suspect identified as alias Levi.

“Kinukuha ‘yung siomai. Hilaw pa ho ata. Sabi nung may tindahan mamaya na,” Barangay 48 chairman Boyet dela Rea said.

(He was already asking for the siomai but it's not yet cooked. The store owner said they will give it later.)

“Ngayon lumapit 'yung Levi, 'Ikaw kanina ka pa makulit.' 'Yun nagkairingan na tapos 'yun bumunot ng 29. Bata pa lang daw talagang magkaaway na 'yang mga 'yan,” he added.

(Now Levi approached him and said, “You are already annoying.” Then they had an argument. The suspect pulled out a 29-centimeter knife. People were saying the two have been enemies since they were young.)

The victim sustained 19 stab wounds. He was brought to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Barangay 49 chairman Ariel Uno Dionisio said the suspect surrendered to authorities.

According to the official, the suspect had been arrested for illegal drug charges. He was just released from jail six to eight months ago, the official said.

The suspect, who has yet to give his statement about the incident, is now under the custody of the Manila Police District.—Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
