Floods hit parts of Metro Manila due to Habagat
The heavy rains due to the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) triggered floods in several areas in Metro Manila on Monday.
In an advisory, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) released flood alerts in the following areas as of 12:44 p.m.:
Makati City
As of 9:41 AM - EDSA Shaw Blvd Underpass: Gutter deep, passable to all types of vehicles
As of 9:54 AM - Magallanes, Pasong Tamo: Half tire deep, passable to all types of vehicles
As of 9:58 AM - Magallanes, EDSA Chino Roces NB
As of 10:00 AM - EDSA before Ayala SB: Half gutter deep, passable to all types of vehicles

Meanwhile, Maria Clara St. Cor. G Araneta Avenue in Cubao was deemed unpassable as of 11:39 a.m. due to deep floods, according to Super Radyo dzBB’s Allan Gatus.

According to a tweet of Super Radyo dzBB’s Mark Makalalad, motorists were advised to take on a different route due to knee-deep floodwater in some roads

Gutter-deep flood was experienced along EDSA corner Roxas Boulevard, according to a tweet of Super Radyo dzBB’s Mao dela Cruz
State weather bureau PAGASA said rains may persist over a large swath of the country due to Habagat.
Monsoon rains may prevail over Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro while occasional rains may be experienced over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Oriental Mindoro.
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms may be observed over Visayas, the rest of Luzon, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Northern Mindanao while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may be experienced over the rest of Mindanao.
