The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday announced that the number coding scheme will remain suspended in the capital region on Wednesday, July 23 due to the inclement weather.

“The agency continues to remind road users to be careful when driving and wading through floodwaters, if unavoidable,” the advisory read in Filipino.

Meanwhile, Makati City also announced the suspension of the number coding scheme within the city on Wednesday.

“Mayor Ate Nancy Binay reminds people to be careful when driving in heavy rain, if they must leave the house,” the announcement in Filipino read.

Makati residents who need an emergency response may call 168, it added.

Further, work in government offices and classes at all levels in Metro Manila are still suspended on Wednesday due to the continuous heavy rainfall brought by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, the Malacanang said. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
