Several animals in pet shops in flooded Arranque Market drowned

Several animals in pet shops in the basement of Arranque Market drowned due to sudden rise in flood waters, according to the report of Mav Gonzales in "Saksi."

"Yung iba po, hindi na namin naisalba. Merong tumulong para maisalba namin," said Bong.

Bryanth, a vendor at the market, said they prioritized taking out their equipment. There were items that they were not able to salvage because they were locked and the floodwaters rose suddenly.

As a result, the sidewalk outside the market looked like an evacuation center for animals that shop owners were able to rescue.

The water pump at the Arranque Market is damaged, which is the reason that the floodwaters have not yet receded.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno went to the other to oversee that water is pumped out of the market. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
