MRT-3 ops back to normal after signaling issue
The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) is implemented a speed limit in some portions of the train system due to a signaling issue on Friday morning.
In an advisory, the MRT-3 said the 30 kilometer per hour speed is being observed from Ortigas Station to Cubao Station (northbound) in light of a signaling issue in Santolan Station.
“A speed limit of 30kph is currently being implemented from Ortigas Station to Cubao Station (Northbound) due to a signaling issue reported at a wayside signal entering Santolan Station,” the train management said.
“Technical personnel are already on-site conducting troubleshooting,” it added.
The MRT-3 apologized to the affected passengers for the inconvenience.
Due to the limited speed of trains, long lines of passengers built up in some MRT-3 stations.
In an update, the MRT-3 said the train system has resumed normal operations as of 10:28 a.m.
“As of 10:28 a.m., MRT-3 has resumed its normal maximum operating speed of 60 kph along the line,” it said.
“A total of 20 trains are currently in operation: 17 three-car CKD trains, one four-car CKD train, and one Dalian train, to accommodate passengers,” it added. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
