Flooded roads in Metro Manila amid LPA rains

Several roads in the National Capital Region (NCR) were flooded on Friday amid the heavy rains due to the low pressure area (LPA) near Aurora, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

In an alert, the MMDA said the following areas were flooded: 

Parañaque

Dr. A. Santos Avenue corner Canaynay Avenue - gutter-deep (eight inches), passable to all types of vehicles

Mandaluyong 

EDSA Shaw Tunnel northbound - gutter-deep (eight inches), passable to all types of vehicles

Pasay City 

Andrews Avenue Tramo westbound - gutter-deep (eight inches), passable to all types of vehicles

EDSA Roxas Boulevard northbound - half tire-deep (13 inches), not passable to light vehicles
 

Manila

Roxas Boulevard-Quirino Avenue service road northbound - gutter-deep (eight inches), passable to all types of vehicles as of 9 a.m. 

Roxas Boulevard-Kalaw Avenue northbound/southbound - tire-deep (26 inches), subsided as of 2:51 p.m.

Roxas Boulevard-Quirino Avenue intersection - gutter-deep (eight inches), passable to all types of vehicles as of 8:51 a.m. 

Roxas Boulevard - UN Avenue service road - gutter-deep (eight inches), passable to all types of vehicles as of 9:06 a.m.

In front of Ospital Ng Maynila: half-tire (13 inches), not passable to light vehicles as of 3:03 p.m.

PNU Taft: Knee deep (19 inches), not passable to light vehicles as of 3:03 p.m.

Padre Faura to Intersection: knee-deep (19 inches), not passable to light vehicles as of 3:03 p.m.

PNU to Ayala: knee-deep (19 inches), not passable to light vehicles as of 3:03 p.m.

Taft in front of Adamson (to Kalaw): knee-deep (19 inches), not passable to light vehicles as of 3:03 p.m.

Manila City Hall to San Marcelino: tire-deep (26 inches), not passable to light vehicles as of 3:03 p.m.

Taft Padre Faura: half-tire deep (13 inches), not passable to light vehicles as of 3:03 p.m.

Taft Ave. (NBI): knee-deep (19 inches), not passable to light vehicles as of 3:03 p.m.

Quirino Station (Walk Way): half-tire deep (13 inches), not passable to light vehicles as of 3:03 p.m.

Makati 

Roxas Boulevard-Buendia Avenue northbound - gutter-deep (eight inches), passable to all types of vehicles as of 9:00 a.m. 

The LPA located east of Aurora has developed into a tropical depression and is now named Isang, according to state weather bureau PAGASA on Friday morning.

“At 8:00 AM today, the Low Pressure Area east of Aurora developed into Tropical Depression ‘ISANG.’ Tropical Cyclone Bulletins will be issued beginning at 11:00 AM today,” PAGASA said in an update.

“All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA,” it added. —VAL/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
