One of the three students who were hit by concrete debris from a condominium building in Quezon City has died weeks after being in critical condition.

According to Glen Juego's report on "Super Radyo dzBB," the victim’s father, Jayson Baldonado, confirmed the death of his 12-year-old son.

The students were hit by the falling concrete debris as they were walking outside the condominium on Tomas Morato Avenue on Aug. 12.

Currently, a canopy is being constructed outside the building, in compliance with the Quezon City local government unit's (LGU) directive.

Quezon City Hall has been studying possible complaints against those who will found accountable for the incident.

Possible penalties for the building management remain unclear, as the Quezon City LGU has yet to release a statement on the matter.

Atherton Place Condominium management earlier said it was willing to cooperate with the investigation.

In a statement, the Quezon City government extended its condolences to the Baldonado family and ensured that it will take necessary actions to attain justice for the victims.

It said its Social Services Development Department is coordinating with the family to promptly provide assistance.

“Kasabay nito, isinasapinal na ng Quezon City Police District (QCPD) at ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ang kasong kriminal at administratibo para mapanagot ang pinaniniwalaang mga responsable sa pangyayari,” the local government said.

(At the same time, the QCPD and local government are finalizing the criminal and administrative charges against those believed to be responsible for the incident.)

“Handa rin ang lokal na pamahalaan na ibigay ang lahat ng tulong para sa pamilya sa anumang hakbang na nais nilang isagawa,” it added.
