Police arrest another suspect in killing of man in Cubao, QC hotel
The Quezon City police on Saturday collared the second of two suspects in the killing of a man who was found dead with his hands and feet tied inside a hotel room in Cubao.
The arrest was carried out early morning Saturday, according to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit.
It was implemented just a day after lawmen nabbed the first suspect, whom the QCPD said was in a relationship with the victim for four months prior to his death.
According to the police, the first suspect tagged his alleged companion as the one who carried out the killing and related crimes.
In a report by Mariz Umali on 24 Oras, the first suspect was arrested after he sent text messages to a friend of a victim.
The former allegedly asked for P4,000 in exchange for the victim's motorcycle. The friend was said to be the vehicle's owner, who later informed the police about the matter.
Police said the victim and the first suspect checked into the hotel on Wednesday night. After 24 hours, hotel staff then knocked on their door.
When nobody responded, the staff used a master key to gain entry and found the victim dead with his hands and feet tied.
Drug paraphernalia was also recovered from the scene.
Police also quoted the victim's friend as saying that the first suspect texted to ask for the P4,000 on Friday, or after the victim was already deceased. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
