Marikina police chief sacked over sexual assault raps vs 2 cops
The chief of police in Marikina City has been administratively relieved from his post for command responsibility amid the probe into alleged sexual assault on a policewoman by two police officers.
“We administratively relieved the chief of police of Marikina pending investigation,” Eastern Police District head Police Brigadier General Aden Lagradante said in a press briefing.
According to Lagradante, the Marikina police chief will also undergo an investigation to determine if he failed to do his duty overseeing his personnel.
On August 17, the suspects, a police staff sergeant and a patrolman, invited the victim, a patrolwoman, to have a coffee but they brought her to a different place.
“Yung victim is also on duty. Niyaya magkape ng dalawa. Noong sumama sa mobile, instead na magkape, pumunta somewhere, nag-park. Then nangyari yun,” Lagradante said.

On August 27, a criminal complaint for sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness was filed against the suspects, Lagradante said.
The two cops are now under restrictive custody and assigned to the police district’s personnel holding and accounting unit, he added. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
