Woman, 2 others arrested for 'rentangay' in QC
The Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) arrested a woman and her two male companions for alleged carnapping using the “rentangay” modus in Quezon City.
According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report on “24 Oras” on Monday, the complainant reported that the suspect rented his car, but did not return it.
The suspect then called the victim and demanded a ransom of P100,000 for the vehicle.
Police said the suspect has been involved in a number of carnapping and estafa cases.
The suspect and her companions have yet to comment on the matter.
They are currently under the custody of the PNP-HPG.
Police said the suspect and her companions have been targeting victims in Metro Manila and Bulacan.
Falsifying documents is also part of their scheme, the cops added. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
