MMDA exempts Bar examinees from number coding on Sept. 10
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced Wednesday that it will exempt bar examinees from the number coding scheme on September 10 to ensure they arrive at their respective testing centers on time.
“In line with the upcoming Philippine Bar Examinations on September 10, 2025, and to ensure that examinees are able to arrive at their respective testing venues without undue delay, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) informs the public that all Bar Examinees are exempted from the Expanded Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or number coding scheme,” MMDA said in a social media post.
Following the Supreme Court’s guidelines, a number coding exemption will be issued for those traveling to and from Bar exam centers in Manila, Taguig, Quezon City, and Muntinlupa.
“Bar examinees are advised to prominently display a copy of their number coding exemption in the middle of the vehicle’s rear windshield for proper identification,” MMDA said.
“Failure to prominently display the exemption notice shall be deemed a waiver of the number coding exemption,” it added.
The Bar exams will be held on September 7 and 14 (Sunday) and September 10 (Wednesday).
The testing centers in Manila are in the following schools:
- San Beda University – Mendiola in Manila
- New Era University in Quezon City
- Manila Adventist College in Pasay City
- San Beda College – Alabang in Muntinlupa City
- University of the Philippines – Bonifacio Global City in Taguig
- Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in Makati
The Supreme Court also announced that several roads in parts of the country would be closed during the bar exams.
“The Office of the 2025 Bar Chairperson respectfully requests for the public's cooperation and understanding during this time. Motorists and commuters are advised to take alternative routes where possible and to follow the instructions of traffic enforcers stationed in the areas,” the Supreme Court said.
The Manila local government earlier announced that it will impose a liquor ban in the vicinity of San Beda University and the University of Santo Tomas in line with the 2025 Bar Examination. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/LDF, GMA Integrated News
