19-year-old arrested for alleged rape of minor

A 19-year-old man wanted for raping a minor was arrested during a police entrapment operation. 

According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report in “24 Oras” on Monday, the suspect met with his supposed date, who turned out to be an undercover policewoman, at a fast food restaurant. Other cops in civilian attire suddenly carried out the arrest inside the establishment. 

“Si Alias Mario ay nagtatago na for almost a year. Pero bago siya nahuli ng ating mga kasamahan ay na-involve na ito sa iba’t-ibang insidente. Na-involve muna siya sa riot, nahulihan siya ng pen gun, at nakulong muna siya,” said Police Major Dandy Ferriol of the Philippine National Police Maritime Group Northern NCR.

(Alias Mario had been in hiding for almost a year. But before our colleagues caught him, he had already been involved in various incidents. He was also involved in a riot, was caught with a pen gun, and was also jailed before.) 

The police said the female victim was a friend of the suspect. The case was filed by the victim’s mother, the report added. 

“Ang nangyari sa insidente na ‘yun ay inaya niya ng inuman until yung biktimang babae naging groggy na at wala na sa katinuaan,” said Ferriol. 

(What happened in that incident was that he invited her to a drinking session until the female victim became groggy and intoxicated.) 

Meanwhile, the suspect apologized for his actions.

“Nanghihingi na lang po ako ng dispensa sa nanay lalo na rin po sa anak niya. Wala na po. Nandito na rin po ako eh. Hangga’t bata kayo, wag na wag kayong iinom. Huwag niyo akong gayahin. Huwag niyo na ako tularan,” said “Alias Mario.”
