Over 50 grams of marijuana found in NAIA T2 trash bin
More than 50 grams of marijuana were found in a trash bin inside a men’s restroom at Terminal 2 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City.
According to Marisol Abdurahman’s Thursday report on “24 Oras," the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP AVSEGROUP) said a janitor found what appeared to be dried cannabis and informed a security guard, who in turn reported it to authorities.
A sniffer dog confirmed that the discovery was marijuana.
“Tinapon lang siya na naka-scattered po sa trash bin po ma'am. Kaya clear na clear po na may dahon po doon sa may trash bin,” said Police Major Adriel Esparagoza, NAIA 2- PNP AVSEGROUP chief.
(It was just thrown away and left scattered in the trash bin, so it's very clear that there were leaves inside.)
He added that a passenger possibly attempted to smuggle the prohibited drug.
PNP AVSEGROUP is conducting CCTV backtracking, but said they're having difficulty identifying the said passenger since many people are coming in and out of the airport. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
