Floods plague parts of QC, Manila after heavy rains

Floodwaters in Barangay Talayan, Quezon City reached above head level on Monday afternoon after heavy rains submerged parts of Metro Manila.

According to Chino Gaston’s “24 Oras” report, the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office rescued some people in Barangay Talayan after the area became flooded.

Floodwater rapidly rose in Quezon City and other parts of Metro Manila.

Students on their way home from school were stranded along Santo Domingo Avenue.

A van had to be pushed after it stalled along Biak na Bato St., while some vehicles were rerouted along Quezon Avenue due to knee-deep flood.

The flood also reached the base of the road leading to the Skyway, forcing some vehicles to halt or reverse their course.

Garbage was seen floating in floodwaters along E. Rodriguez Ave. as some vehicles attempted to pass through the waist-level flood.

Heavy traffic was observed along Araneta Ave., so vehicles going to San Juan were forced to detour along E. Rodriguez Ave. going to Welcome Rotonda.

G. Araneta Underpass and Mother Ignacia Ave, corner Samar Ave, were rendered impassable due to floods.

Meanwhile, Scout Ybardolaza St. corner Kamuning Road remained passable to vehicles despite the gutter-deep flood.

Traffic was impeded along V. Luna Avenue, Elliptical Road, and Commonwealth Ave.
