Missing couple's credit cards used in different cities
The credit cards of a missing couple were found to have been used by the two persons of interest, according to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group - National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR) on Tuesday.
According to Jun Veneracion’s report in “24 Oras” on Tuesday, the persons of interest were caught on CCTV footage using the credit cards of Henry Angelo and Margie Pantollana at various establishments in different locations.
A woman was caught using Margie’s credit card at a cellphone shop in Fairview, Quezon City. A transaction was also made in Parañaque City and in Bulacan last July 15 and 16, dates after the couple went missing.
Meanwhile, a man was seen ordering at a coffee shop in Cavite last August 10 using Henry’s credit card.
“Of course, they are persons of interest dahil ginamit ‘yung mga credit cards nila. Paano napunta yung mga credit cards na ‘yun?” said CIDG-NCR acting chief Police Lieutenant Colonel John Guiagui.
(Of course, they are persons of interest because they used the credit cards of the missing couple and how come they were in possession of those credit cards?)
Most of the items purchased using the couple’s credit cards were cellphones worth more than P1 million.
The family of the missing couple does not know the persons caught on CCTV using the credit cards. This has prompted police to uncover the identities of the persons of interest.
“We are facing a blank wall right now. Kasi nga kung titignan natin yung CCTV na pinapakita, even the family, there was no forced abduction,” said Guiagui.
(We are facing a blank wall right now. Since if we look at the CCTV footage and even the family [thinks] there was no forced abduction.)
Authorities are looking forward to talk with the person who was supposed to meet with the missing couple for a supposed business meeting. The CIDG-NCR said that the individual will be returning to the Philippines on Wednesday and is ready to give a statement before investigators.
The CIDG-NCR is also checking if the couple’s abduction has something to do with their family background. Henry’s brother, Hector, was arrested last year in Bali, Indonesia for his alleged involvement in an investment scam.
