License of Makati driver with blinking reverse lights suspended —DOTr

The Department of Transportation said Monday the license of the driver of the vehicle with blinking or flashing reverse lights in Makati City has been suspended for 90 days.

In a show cause order dated October 5, the Land Transportation Office said the involved vehicle is also placed under “alarm status.”

“The Driver's License of the driver operating the subject vehicle shall be placed under NINETY (90) DAY PREVENTIVE SUSPENSION, which shall be surrendered immediately upon proper identification, pending investigation of this case,” the LTO said in the order posted on DOTr Facebook page.

Aside from this, the LTO ordered the registered owner and driver to appear before their office in Quezon City on October 10 to submit an explanation about the incident and bring the vehicle for inspection.

“This refers to the investigation conducted by this Office in connection with a video posted on the Facebook account ‘Parkeserye,’ showing a black Toyota Innova…operating within Makati City and equipped with a blinking or flashing reverse light,” the LTO said.

The possible violation of the driver is under Section 34 (d) of the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.

“Failure to appear and submit the notarized comment/explanation as required shall be construed by this Office as a waiver of you right to be heard, and the case shall be decided based on the evidence at hand,” the LTO said. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
