QC gov't to provide assistance to family of 3 minors killed in fire

The local government of Quezon City (QC) on Wednesday expressed its condolences to the bereaved family of three minors who perished in a fire that gutted a residential area in Barangay Sto. Domingo.

In a statement, the QC government said it will also extend burial and psychosocial assistance to the family following the tragic incident.

“Ang kanilang pagpanaw ay isang malalim na dalamhati hindi lamang ng kanilang mga mahal sa buhay kundi ng ating buong komunidad,” QC said in a statement.

(Their deaths bring profound sorrow not only to their loved ones but also to the whole community.)

“Bilang tugon, sasagutin ng lungsod ang lahat ng gastusin mula burol hanggang cremation ng tatlong bata. Kasabay nito, magkakaloob din tayo ng psychosocial intervention upang mahatiran ng lakas at suporta ang kanilang pamilya sa panahong ito ng matinding pagdadalamhati,” it said.

(The city government will shoulder the expenses for their burial and cremation. We will also provide psychosocial intervention to the families.)

The city government will likewise provide financial and disaster relief assistance to all fire victims and is eyeing recommending the displaced families to the Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program (IDSAP) of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DSHUD).

“Patuloy nating ipaglalaban ang isang mas ligtas at mas handang komunidad laban sa sunog. Hindi natin kayang ibalik ang kanilang mga mahal sa buhay, ngunit kaya nating tiyaking hindi na maulit ang ganitong trahedya,” added QC in the statement.

(We will continue to fight to make our community safer and more fire-ready. We cannot bring back their lives, but we can ensure there will never be a repeat of the incident.)
