NCRPO mulls extending full alert status for post-Undas travel, storm Tino
The National Capital Region Police Office is looking into extending its full alert status to assist returning passengers from provinces after the Undas holidays and to prepare for Tropical Storm Tino, public information office chief Police Major Hazel Asilo said Sunday.
In an interview with Super Radyo dzBB, Asilos said the NCRPO is on full alert status until November 3 for Undas 2025.
“Magdedepende pa ‘yan (full alert status) kung kailangan pang i-extend or may kababayan na kailangan i-assist at dahil may darating na bagyo,” Asilo said.
(The extension of the full alert status will still depend on whether there are fellow citizens who need assistance, and the forecast of the storm.)
PAGASA earlier reported Sunday that Tino entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility, but it is not yet expected to directly affect the weather conditions in the country today.
Undas 'generally peaceful'
As of 6 a.m., about 422,000 visitors went to cemeteries in Metro Manila, Asilos said.
“So far, generally peaceful ‘yung ating paggunita ng Undas kahapon. Walang reported major incidents or untoward incidents,” she said.
(So far, the observance of Undas yesterday was generally peaceful. No major or untoward incidents were reported.)
There was one reported theft incident at La Loma Cemetery in Caloocan City though.
However, Asilos said the female suspect was arrested as she was caught in the act.
According to Asilos, more than 20,000 police officers were deployed in Metro Manila for Undas 2025. —KG, GMA Integrated News
