Vendors banned around Quiapo Church from January 7 to 9 for Nazareno 2026
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Monday announced that vendors will be prohibited around the vicinity of Quiapo Church from January 7 to 9, 2026 amid the celebration of the Jesus Nazareno image.
“On [January] 7, 8, and 9, wala pong papayagan na magtitinda. Lahat ng nasa vicinity sa simbahan ng Quiapo…Tatlong araw, nang sa ganoon, makapaghanda rin ang ang lungsod kung meron pang dumi,” Moreno said in a press conference.
(On January 7, 8, and 9, no vendors will be allowed. All those in the vicinity of Quiapo Church…Three days, so that the city can also prepare to clean the area.)
He also advised vendors to avoid selling items that use sharp objects, like sticks that may injure devotees.
The Quiapo Church on Monday presented its plans for Nazareno 2026, which will start on December 31, 2025 until January 9, 2026.
The activities for Nazareno 2026 are scheduled on the following dates:

Thanksgiving Procession - December 31
Barangay Visitation (Quiapo District) - January 2 to 6, 2026

Pabihis sa Poong Jesus Nazareno - January 7, 2026
Masses - January 8 to 9, 2026

Panalangin sa Takipsilim - January 8, 2026
Misa Mayor - January 9, 2026
The celebration will culminate with Traslacion or procession of the Jesus Nazareno image from Quirino Grandstand back to the Quiapo Church on January 9, 2026. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
